Twelve inch vinyl single pressing. The fifth release on Canopy continues to up the ante and expand on the tropical Techni-color palette already set out by the label. Alafia was a studio project led by Philip Nikwé, bringing together musicians from Benin, Cameroon, Guadeloupe, France & The US. A synthesis between the Mina lyrics, afro-beat rhythms, synth leads, swirling horn driven funk, boogie sensibilities, b-boy scratches and talk box effects. Bosq makes a return to Canopy for another masterclass in Mr Miyagi-esque production chops, delivered with true restraint but without ever pulling any punches. Wax on!
