In the summer of 2007, R.E.M. performed a five-night residency at Dublin, Ireland's Olympia Theatre. These dates were set up to allow the Athens, GA-based alt-rockers to explore new material, test out arrangements, and effectively rehearse songs for their 14th studio album, Accelerate, released in 2008. The 39 tracks on the 2-disc set, recorded over the course of the residency, cover a wide range of material - digging deep into the band's earliest tracks, and eschewing the obvious hits.
