2013 two CD collection, another great installment of the secret Sixties/early-Seventies past of legendary disco and soundtrack producer Giorgio Moroder (the Schlager of the title refers to catchy German chart pop). This compilation rounds up his many and various solo projects, most long unavailable and some remastered for the first time. Features Moroder's pre-disco work as Spinach-with German singer Michael Holm-and also releases under the many pseudonyms he used for different recordings in several countries. Includes singles released in Germany, Britain, Italy, Spain and France, plus rare and collectable German, English and Italian-language releases. The in-depth liner note by Record Collector journalist Michael Heatley gives further insight as to how Moroder developed his distinctive musical style.
