Often cited as a key album in the rise of AOR, this seventh studio release from Boz Scaggs helped propel his career worldwide after steady recognition since the 1960s, reaching No. 2 on the US album chart and featuring smooth, sophisticated performances by top-tier musicians including Jeff Porcaro on drums and David Paich on piano, who would later form Toto, alongside Boz Scaggs' smoky, soulful vocals that brought adult contemporary music firmly into the mainstream, highlighted by the hit single "Lowdown," which reached No. 3 in the US, and his signature ballad "We're All Alone," and presented here as a Japan-only edition using a hybrid disc that includes an SACD stereo layer and a CD stereo layer, produced from the 2023 remastered audio, housed in 7-inch cardboard sleeve packaging that faithfully reproduces the original LP artwork and comes with an obi strip replicating the original Japanese edition, and further includes a reproduction jacket of the EP single cut from the album, newly written liner notes, full lyrics, and Japanese translations.
