About This Release
Born from the creative rivalry between Lou Reed and John Cale, this 1967 debut masterpiece delivers a miraculous collision of pop rock and roll and stark, inorganic noise and is widely regarded as one of the most influential albums ever recorded, featuring vocals by Nico, who was active as a model in Europe at the time, and produced by Andy Warhol, who also created the iconic banana artwork, presented here as a Japan-only project on a Japanese-pressed LP cut at Abbey Road Studios, complete with an obi that faithfully recreates the design of the first Japanese LP edition obi, and including liner notes, lyrics, and Japanese translations for a definitive collector-focused edition.
