More Info:

Four albums on 2 CDs from Country Music Hall of Fame inductee (2001), the late, great Waylon Jennings. Recorded between 1967 and 1969 and available for the first time in this format. One of the finest country singers of all time, Waylon Jennings ranked No. 7 in Rolling Stone magazine's poll of 100 greatest country artists. In a 37 year recording career Waylon achieved 100 country chart singles and 60 chart albums. By 1967, the year in which this collection of albums begins, Waylon Jennings was on the threshold of success. He was signed to RCA Victor, Country Music's top record label at the time, and working with Chet Atkins, not only one of Nashville's most successful record producers but a guitarist second to none. Although he didn't secure the greatest success as a singles artist, Waylon enjoyed a plentiful number of album releases, approximately two a year. This collection includes 'Love Of The Common People', 'Hangin' On', 'Only The Greatest' and 'Jewels' which all arrived in the record stores during the period 1967 to 1969. All were produced by Atkins who would also occasionally add his guitar licks to the sessions. Jennings would go on to lead the "Outlaw" music movement of the mid-1970s together with Willie Nelson and Tompall Glaser. He died of diabetes on 13th February 2002 aged 64.
