Digitally re-mastered edition. Dion enjoyed considerable success fronting the Belmonts, registering nine major hits in a little over two years before striking out on his own in 1961. As a soloist his successes were even greater. These singles may have singled him out as something of a Rock 'n' Roll star (as well as a teen idol), but as his later recordings proved, Dion was a dangerous artist to try and pigeon hole. The album LOVERS WHO WANDER is a perfect example; as well as his interpretations of the likes of 'Shout' and 'Stagger Lee', there are five of his own compositions, something of a new avenue for Dion to explore. The album was extremely well received upon initial release, hitting #12 on the US album chart and giving rise to three hit singles, with the title track a #3 success.
