And as Waylon Jennings said in his song 'It's Alright', "if we all could sound like we wanted to, we'd all sound like George Jones." Either solo or as part of a duet, he placed nearly 150 songs on the charts. As a solo act, he had nine # 1 country hits, all of which are included on this 48 track compilation. Recorded in 1959, "White lightning", was his first # 1. Subsequent #1 hits include perennial favorites like "She Thinks I Still Care" (1962), "Walk Through This World With Me" (1967), and "He Stopped Loving Her Today" (1980).
