About This Release

Known for complex textures in a rock-pop format, "The I'd and the Ego" is the Logic's fourth official release, and it takes their fans on their most sonically-diverse landscape yet. It took the band seven years to create this album. Known under the working title "Stranded", 41 songs were written for the band's most collaborative effort to date. "The I'd and the Ego" also marks the first time the Logic opted for outside influences. The album was mastered by Rodney Mills (Sheryl Crow, Pearl Jam, James Brown, Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special, Journey, Stone Temple Pilots, and many, many more.). Several songs featured on the album were also co-written with close friends James McElory, Eric Ellsworth and Mic Lewis. James McElroy even co-produced a few tracks. And, this album marks the first original album that featured two cover tunes. From reggae-flavored power pop and catchy guitar riffs to straight-ahead driving-in-your-car rock and multi-layered vocal hooks, this album offers far more textures than on a typical pop-rock release. In fact, that appears to be the album's strength and secret weapon.
