NTSC/Region 0. for the first time ever on DVD, this release presents one of the very few opportunities to see the great Horace Silver on film, including an extended version of his most acclaimed composition, 'Song for My Father". He is backed here by equally celebrated musicians like Bill Hardman, Bennie Maupin and Billy Cobham. Two long unavailable performances recorded for TV shows in Los Angeles in 1962 have been added to complete the program. One of them features Shelly Manne with an outstanding quintet including Conte Candoli, Richie Kamuca and Russ Freeman. ImproJazz.
