Richard Dawson holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Guitar Performance and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Musical Arts Performance from the world renowned California Institute of the Arts. He was one of two applicants accepted into the guitar department in 1995 and one of three to graduate in 2003. Mr. Dawson studied with world class guitarists Stuart Fox, Miroslav Tadic, and Dr. John Schneider. Through intensive study, he has become a master of the Romero Method. This method is an in depth exploration of the mechanics of the hands, body, and mind in relation to the techniques used to play classical guitar. Once mastered, this set of tools allows the user to effectively learn ANY style of guitar with relative ease. Richard's mentor, Stuart Fox, studied directly under Pepe and Angel Romero during his studies at USC. Richard is a true master of the guitar in every respect. He has tackled some of the most difficult guitar literature and interprets many of the classics with a very unique and exquisitely beautiful sensitivity. Mr. Dawson is currently composing works for an album of original, experimental compositions which will be available in 2015.
