Once a member of the popular Philly Soul group First Choice, sexy chanteuse Wardell Piper recorded her self-titled solo debut with producers John H. Fitch, Jr.. and Reuben Cross, who co-wrote Evelyn King's huge hit "Shame." the album included "Super Sweet," which went to number 20 on the R&B charts and "Captain Boogie," which went to number 33 on the R&B charts in early '79. The album became very popular among the disco crowd and featured a crack studio band consisting of Bobby Bird (bass); Darleen Brown (bass); John H. Fitch Jr.. (guitar); Michael Davis (guitar); Tina Woodrit (drums); Jim Beavan (piano, sythnesizer); Nathaniel Lee (piano); Michael Sanders and O.T. Young (percussion). Now finally available in the digital domain, all selections have been newly remastered.
